Being out on your own these days when young (19) is so hard, I now understand why so many choose to live at home for so long. Rent prices here are massive, I live with a housemate to help pay the bills, but it is still hard, my career is just taking off so its low pay for the moment, i work 2 extra jobs to make ends meet and do not have the choice of moving home as i no longer have one to go back to due to an abusive home.

Any Ideas on what i can do ,other than the usual (saving every penny so as to afford to live),on being able to live, and still have fun, stay sane and just be young. I'm not the only one who just getting by so many other may have ideas and tips on what helped them through it?

Create a Budget and stick to it. To save money on groceries, create a weekly menu, from that menu make your shopping list. You'll spend less money on food plus you won't have to worry about what to cook, just refer to your menu.

Put your change at the end of the day in some type of container. Adds up quickly.

Allow yourself the luxury of "having fun", but limit it to specific amount of days....costs a lot to party every day.

good luck

No one likes to hear it...but go to college--a state university. Living is cheap there. Student loans and grants and a regular job should allow you to live enough and keep up with studies.

Partying in college is the best...if you have the determination to also keep up with studies (and your job).

Get great grades, and your last two years could be paid for with scholarships.

If admitance is a problem, a GED takes about 4-8 weeks to get, depending on how you test. A decent ACT or SAT score can be achieved with about 50 hours of studying.

And you'll make a TON more money after college. "$50 thou a year, will buy a lot of beer".
