It's pretty. If you hadn't mentioned she was irish however, I'd have assumed she just made it up - which I'm sorry to say I generally don't agree with. Looks quite similar to the scottish boy's name 'Innes', which I love!

To be honest i like it because its unusual but i wouldnt pick it for my own child there are so many beautiful girls names out there im sure she could have chose a better one

Ines is usually spelled with just the one "s" and it's the French equivalent of Agnes. I think it's prettier than Agnes, but it's not my favourite name.

I have a relative with that name (she spells it Innes) and while I was growing up I always thought that it sounded really strange. And I still do. lol :-)

Me personally? No, I don't like it. I don't know the meaning though, so my opinion doesn't matter. If it has meaning to the mother, then its the PERFECT name for her.

I've known 2 people w/ that name (they were both German). I wouldn't choose it but if she did, it's perfect for her. I don't dislike it.
