Health care, including medications, is a right not a privilege. The only way to make this work is by instituting a national program similar to those of the Scandinavian countries. Everyone pays a flat fee that is part of the federal income tax and the drugs are available at little or no cost.

Will it be perfect? No. But it will certainly be better than the mess we now have. AND it will help people living longer more productive and happier lives.

Here in Australia, we have universal health care which really does cover all citizens. As well as free medical and surgical care, we have a pharmaceutical system which covers all Seniors, and people on disability or other pensions. They pay $4.70 for any prescription, no matter what the retail price is.
I don't understand why people who live in the richest country in the world, still have this terrible problem with paying top price for medications. Its not just Scandinavia which has a fair system, its many countries around the world. I think you'll find that the US is one of the worst, right down there with the 3rd world countries.
I'd suggest that you lobby your politicians, and lobby them vigorously, about this !!

The company CAREMARK has a deal where they will send you 3 months of your drugs through the mail for the price of one month. I hear that works pretty good - except when your meds are right and you have to change them every month anyway....
