You chose an unusual spelling of a well-known name. Now you are angry that people don't know how to spell it. Sorry, but that's what happens when you have to be so original. If it bothers you this much, think of how much stress it's going to cause your daughter throughout her life. She will always have to introduce herself as "Izabella with a Z". People will automatically write it as Isabella - unless she tells them differently.

Er, no. that's a misspelling. Isabella is the way the call is spelled. Your spelling might curse the undesirable lady to a life-time of correcting human beings. Izabella sounds like a typo.

People are ignorant and want to see the norm. If you like the spelling of Izabella that way then keep it/use it. My name is Emily and there are 8 different ways to spell it. Don't let people influence the way you spell a name you love. My soon to be born daughter Addison isn't Welsh but she's getting a Welsh name. Screw them, cultures collide everywhere.

Its because you hit the trend of the name, plus the trend of making popular names more unique by giving them unique spellings. For example all the Madison, Matison, Madason, Madysons, out there. Just bad timing.
If you would have chosen a more obscure name, probably wouldnt get this so much.

I love that name. Its beautiful no matter how you spell it. Its not wrong or misspelled, its just spelled differently. People say that about my sons name too. We named him "Brayden". People insist that it should be spelled "Braden". I've finally started getting snippy with people and saying, "You know what? This is the way WE spell it. Its too late now to worry about spelling anyway. Its his name and he's stickin' to it." lol That usually shuts them up.
*Thumbs down? For what? Oh well.....
**Sheesh. I can't believe people are being so rude over something so silly. Its a name, people! That's all! Nothing to go into a cultural war over! No need for name-calling either.

Isabel is the modern Spanish form of the Old Spanish name, Ysabel.
Izabella/Izabel is nowhere to be found in any reputable baby name book.

I don't think it's spelled wrong. I think it sounds nice...and the pronunciation of it is the same...correct?
My name is Laura and there are different ways to spell it. There is no "wrong" way...just different.
Don't worry about it.

If you aren't Spanish, then it's stupid to give your kid a specifically Spanish name. In the culture you're living in, it IS mispelled. Suck it up.
