The question got maybe five or six answers to it and one other answerer maybe got 2 thumbs up. But YOURS got 5 thumbs up (not one thumbs down) and you're pretty proud of that. You would think this person would pick yours as Best Answer, right? Especially seeing as how so many people agreed with you! Not to mention the fact that the asker was asking for help for something that they have no idea how to handle otherwise. But instead of chosing your five thumbs uped answer as Best, they put the damn question into voting. WTF?!?

Don't take it personally. Hey you probably still have a good chance of getting best answer. And besides maybe they didn't put it in to voting. If you don't choose a best answer, eventually it goes into voting on its own. Could be the person hasn't checked the answers to their question.

A question goes into 'voting' when the asker doesn't answer it. they do not PUT it there.
could be they got busy with work/life/cleaning and forgot to pick a best.
plus, i tend to think that people usually pick the answer THEY like best, not the one that gets starred the most.

Sometimes the asker does not actually put the question to voting.... it can happen automatically just because they did not choose a best answer in time....

Sometimes people abandon their questions.

I suppose it means they just didn't care about it all that much.

But it's no surprise, really. Most of the questions here are either frivolous or apply to only a very small segment of the audience.

Points don't really matter. Just keep answering for the satisfaction of knowing 5 people "got" your point.

I really wouldn't get that upset about it. It's only an answer. You could always vote for your own answer to win though, that's what I always do.
