Yes, It is weapons control. And at the same time the US is threatening regime change in Iran. And it was regime change when the US replaced the elected government of Iran and the Shah was put in place.
Should God allow Iran to have nuclear weapons?
Should the US empire allow Iran to have nuclear weapons?
Should the US republic allow Iran to have nuclear weapons?
Should the Iranian people allow Iran to have nuclear weapons?
Should a normal human evolution allow Iran to have nuclear weapons?
It seems to me that you will get different answer depending upon who you think, is the entity do the allowing.

When a country makes public statements of wanting to remove Isreal from the map, kill all Jews and Americans, and the world will fall under the rule of Islam....I don't think that country would be ready and mature enough to be in control of a very powerful device.
Secondly, it has been proven time and time again that Iran has been apart of terrorist attacks by funding and supplying them (Marine barracks in the 90's, insurgents in Iraq now)....so by them having nukes, I have a good feeling they will just hand them over to a terrorist organization and tell them to "Have fun and be safe!"
So if you really think that a country who vows the destruction of a certain race and country is ready for nuclear weapons, then you must be smoking some crack.

Iran president paves the way for arabs' imam return
Nov 17, 2005
His call for the destruction of Israel may have grabbed headlines abroad, but it is President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's devotion to a mystical religious figure that is arousing greater interest inside Iran.
In a keynote speech on Wednesday to senior clerics, Ahmadinejad spoke of his strong belief in the second coming of Shi'ite Muslims' "hidden" 12th Imam.
According to Shi'ite Muslim teaching, Abul-Qassem Mohammad, the 12th leader whom Shi'ites consider descended from the Prophet Mohammed, disappeared in 941 but will return at the end of time to lead an era of Islamic justice.
"Our revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi," Ahmadinejad said in the speech to Friday Prayers leaders from across the country.
"Therefore, Iran should become a powerful, developed and model Islamic society."

No, they should not--not with the current regime.
BTW--the notionofgun control applies toprivate citizens--in the US. Not to international relations. And--although there is no feasible way to achieve this in the foreseeable future--no nation should have nuclear weapons.

No because there leader is a complete whack job.
Most Iranians seem much more level headed than the nuts they let rule over them. I wouldn't trust them not to give nukes to terrorists as we know the already give them other arms.
