what do i do to change the sceen size from 2 inch by 6 inch rectangle in the center of my monitor to full size

when i log in the screen is fine .....but other windows pop up in small 2 by 6 rectangles when they normally show up full

Use the double arrow, to stretch the screen, when you have it the size you want, hold down the ctrl key, while you click on file, then exit from that dropdown. That should keep it the right size. If that doesn,t work, try it again, but this time, hold down the shift key, instead of the ctrl key.
