the best way to make your own website for free is to make it yourself. There are basic html tutorials online which can show you how to create your own website very easily. You don't need any special programs, just something like 'notepad' or 'wordpad'.

For website hosting, it is very common these days that your ISP gives you your own web space that you can manage. If this is not the case, then there are several free web-hosting sites to be found. Simply search Google.

Good luck!

well, If you don't have any issues with domain name then you can try Google pages. If you have gmail account then you get 5 googlepages sites of 100MB each.

Just sign in to www.google.com and click on My Account. It shows various products of google there. Get googlepages from there and make your own website of 100MB!!!

the only problem is that your website link might look like.
xyz.googlepages.com

try for other sites also... criteria is same- you don't have permission to choose domain name completely of your choice. But yes, if you have some domain name bought [or got] then you can use that name for these sites also.
