Sounds like your subconscious was trying out an alternative lifestyle for a while, trying it on for size. Did you think AFTERWARDS that the dream was creepy or during it? If you were happy IN the dream then perhaps it is indicating the kinds of changes you might like to make your current world that you are not consciously admitting to yourself yet. I don't mean you want a replica lifestyle but your mind has chosen the picture that you are familiar with (those TV shows) to represent a slower more family oriented existence. Just showing you a wee snapshot of what you think you might be missing. Are you ready to or thinking about having a family/getting married? There is no shame in it - even for us independent friend fueled career minded ladies! Very bright colours usually mean something held quite strongly in your head/heart.

it depends, Van Gough had his own meaning of the colors, for instance yellow was evil, pure evil to the man. I think the meanings of the colors are dependent on the person and the personality.
Broad Generalizations of this kind hold little validity.

colours are gift of nature,and the ability our eye in distinguishing colors is great and divine.It is spread all over in variety and forms.it revives life,rejuvenates.

I differ portraying particular color with particular meaning,psychological or in what ever sense.

Purple - mourning.
Yellow - happiness
Dark blue - worry
Green - tranquility, new life
pink - peace, harmony
