It really all depends on your YOUR body responds to the metformin. Not all women with PCOS can get pregnant with metformin alone. My body never responded to metformin alone, I had to take metformin along with clomid in order for my body to react and do what it was supposed to do. After that it took 4 cycles before I got pregnant.

Good luck!

I was diagnosed with PCOS and started taking Metformin on February 16, 2006....I ovulated 10 days later and on March 8, 2006 I found out I was pregnant with our beautiful baby girl!
It worked first month for me but it doesnt always for everyone else....just make sure you take the meds on time daily. Good luck!

hi Emmie, metformin takes about 3 cycles on average to work, but to be more aggressive and help you more, your doctor could give you both Clomid and metformin, you shoul ask them about this option, you can also ask an RE (fertility specialist) online for free to get their opinion on this, an see what they think, you can also read more about PCOS, try www.FertilityTies.com
good luck!
