Is it any good?
Or is it as good as it sounds?
Would any1 NOT recomend it to a friend for any reason?

I was a member of lovefilm for 2 years. It does do exactly what it says, and the system works really well.
On the plus side, they were really easy to deal with and responded fast when some DVDs didn't arrive, and didn't make it difficult at all for me.I found the customer service generally to be really good. The website is really well designed and easy to use and they also had a lot of really good offers all the time, including free months for introducing friends and free weeks and all sorts.
On the minus side I have found that the turnaround rate on sending out your next films slowed down as it became more popular. Also they have (or at least had) taken away the option to de-register online, so that you now have to phone a call centre to cancel your subscription. And as one answerer above said, if you have new releases and some older or more obscure stuff on your list then you will keep getting the older/obscurer stuff sent out rather than the in-demand stuff.
All-in-all it was a good service and it does do just about all that they say it does.
It used to be the case that if you subscribed to shooting people http://www.shootingpeople.org.uk then you got extra free weeks when you first signed up. Don't know if it is still true but might be worth a look! Have fun! Hx

I'm Sorry But I DIDN'T like them at all
I found then very slow at sending DVDs out
and I even got films that weren't on my list
In the two months I stayed with them I had a number of DVD in very poor condition a few I sent back as unplayable
When I did get a film more often than not it was one of the older films on my list.
I went with Blockbuster.co.uk that works for me

I was a member for about a year, they were pretty good. My only complaint was that they are really slow at sending out the new releases. You have to keep at least 10 films in your list but they only seemed to send me the older ones.

Yes I have subscribed to love films and the service is excellent. It does exactly as it says and is as good as it sounds

I'd thoroughly recommend it,been a member for a while and they are very efficient & prompt,the site is very easy to use and the dvds arrive within days (I returned one yesterday and the next one will probably be here tomorrow!)...can't fault them!

I had a month's free trial from them and they seemed ok to me.
There were quite slow in sending out your movies and they were always bombarding me with emails telling me to update my wanted list.
Other than that they were alright..

I have signed up to the Amazon service and they are fantastic. Dont' know about Lovefilm sorry
