I have a buddy whose girlfriend and other roommate left the apartment at the same time and now the rent is on him. I was wondering if anyone out there knew how i could help him out. I personally do not have the money and am doing what i can to help. Does anyone know of any labs that pay to be a ginuea pig or any other programs that could help? I want to help as much as possible because he is my best friend and risked his life to save mine.

Next time your friend has roommates, have him sit down and write down agreement for being roommates.
One rule in the agreement should be everyone must give 30 days notice of leaving residence or find suitable replacement roommate before they can leave.Any bills owed the next month after they leave ,they are still responsible for their share.
Your friend can take his ex roommates to court for their share, owed of the rent.Have him talk to his landlord, and you be with him when he does.Tell the landlord you want to try and give him what your friends share is.(if it's only your friends; name on the lease) yes,he'll have to show his receipts he paid in court.
Why can't he get his girlfriend to pay her half?
You cannot sell that much plasma! Other than that,he will have to find some weekend construction jobs or paint jobs or something to try and pay for the rent!
Go with him to talk to his girlfriend (be a witness to her refusing to help pay)and the other roommate.Don't get into a fight otherwise he'll be able to sue him back to injury and he'd still be out the share.
Take care!

Rule number one...give what you can...don't feel guilty for not being able to give more. Friendship like yours is wonderful...but you did not put your friend in this situationm his roommates did. If you don't have $1100 to gift your friend, then you need money as well. So if you had it, you should save it for if and when your roommates bolt on you. And what will he do next month? How will he pay it then?

The fact that he saved your life is admirable...but don't think this indebts you to his poor choices. His choice of roommates wasn't very good.

Work. Go to farms or restaurants or builders and ask if they could use you for a day or a week or whatever on top of what you normally do. If you want to help your friend and you both work a few days, no matter how hard the work, you can come up with that much money. Whatever you do don't go to a loan shark (they will own you) or do anything dangerous or illegal. It simply isn't worth it.

Plasma centers, sperm donations (if he's comfy with that) depends on where you live. When I needed money to help kick start my business, I sent letters to family memebers explaning the situation and got a pretty good response. Also, depending on what state you live in, you could get government help and community help. I got rent help from the state and a local community service place. Here (in Delaware) we have a few community services that can help, also local catholic churches (even non catholic) can be of some help. Good luck.

If your buddy's friends names are on the lease then they are still responsible for their portion of the rent until the lease is up.

Otherwise, he might have to resort to moving out and asking someone (like his parents) for help.

He is also going to have to notify the landlord that he's having trouble getting the money together and that the roommates moved out.

i sure hope it works out... sorry to hear that your friend is having such a hard time.

Explain your situation to the land lord. He might be able to do a payment schedule for that months rent if he has enough for the next months. If the landlord is an asshole....well, try his bank for a small loan. A payday loan....or you can do what me and my buddy used to do.....go to where your local drug dealers hang out. Tell them you'll buy all the weed they have. Then punch them out and take the weed and all their money then sell the weed yourself and you'll have quick easy cash. But only if you don't mind violence. We found it fun and they're not gonna call the cops on you....good luck!

A lab, how about a part time job...or selling stuff at a pawn shop. What about their parents...or apply for a short term loan...
Guinea pig....would be my last option

I think people on here are going to say lots of things that might get you a few hundred. Get motivated and do the ones you think are good.
-get a personal loan maybe.
