The McCanns are very odd - they are now highly critical because they have been placed under suspicion but it was ok for Robert Murat to put up with what he did on the basis of zero evidence then?

Very odd couple. They said they would help with the inquiry even if it pointed to them - so whats the rush in coming home then?

Maria - good point also to get close to their Maddy Fund - those lawyers cost a lot of money and thanks to members of the public they have a fund they can tap into or just sell 'their story' to highest bidder when bill comes through.....

I'm pretty certain the Portuguese authorities wont be 'bullied' into anything by the McCanns.

If there is evidence enough to charge, it will be done. There is nothing the McCanns can do except talk to their lawyers.

Coming home is more about getting the twins back the UK and in the care of relatives, rather than taken into care in Portugal if charges are brought against the couple.

The McCanns did not get Robert Murat arrested.

If you believe what you read, (not sure I always do) the Portuguese police that interviewed them were intimidating and threatening.

The Portuguese police want this case closed quick because the spotlight on them has revealed incompetence on the highest level.

they are scared and their action says just that. they've now decided to place the twins first.....ironic isn't it when the pj was making no head way in the case the mccann's were happy with their performance, now there's evidence and the mccann's are dancing to a different tune.

All this time they insisted on staying in Portugal. What will all the sightseeing in the name of Madeleine now over, why would they want to stick around, especially now that the nets are closing in.

Apparently, they have returned home so that the twins are able to have a more 'normal' life and routine.

Shame they didn't think more about the health and happiness of their kids when they still had all three of them in their care, eh?

ODD? they are distraught about their daughter !

I dont blame them for coming home, the police out there are useless and now trying to frame them as they have been shamed and shown how useless they are.
