Cowardly conservative drones, terrified of the truth, will eagerly and slavishly lap up everything he says, supposedly because he is a general. Yet there are dozens of other generals who disagree with him, who disagreed with Bush and coincidentally decided to "retire" a short time later.

Leaving the question of "lying" aside, only a lobotomized Bush-worshipping stooge can read what Petraeus said in 2004 and still accept what he says now.

I think he will be less than candid and only point out the very limited success in Anbar where all the focus has been.

It doesn't matter, though since it has already been determined that the White House speech writers will write the report (sources: Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC) and not the General.

I think lying by omission is still lying, but let's hope he does not.

Most of us already know that the liberals wouldn't know the truth if they stepped in it. I see that you got this from moveon.org, you guys are so original, have you ever had a thought on your own, besides what kind of pot you are going to try next?

My guess is even if the situation in Iraq that it was reported that we should bring the troops home, you would think that this was a lie as well.

It appears that General Betrayus (I like that, clever) is also General Puppetraeus and probably was chosen for his blind loyalty or at least ultra-conservative and hawkish views.

If you listen to him ealry on, it is clear that he would support the Bush-whackers no matter what.

He will sing the success in Anbar Province, since they focused in one area so they could claim success, and ignore the fact that Bagdhad and stability with the Shi'ites is a failure.

I think he is an administration puppet and I think we will see this. Almost all the other Commanders, many who retired because they see this administration for what it is, think we have taken 2-3 steps back for eveyone we've taken forward.

I lived through Vietnam and served in the Army and this is like Deja Vu in the desert.

There are those who think all the Dems have made their minds up and I'm sure some have, but most of those saying that are Republicans who ALSO have made their minds up. I have not (Independent voter) but I still think Patraeus has a history of hawkishness and unswerving support for the administration.

Consider this: Blindly following a bad leader is NOT Patriotism.

the reason to get out of iraq doesn't need to be turned into propaganda just to get the message across. if anything, it hinders the message. general "betray us" is just about as lame as calling obama "barack osama", as neither really convinces anybody of anything except that your opinion shouldn't be trusted.

it's obvious that the message of moveon.org isn't directed at supporters of the war, but simply preaches to the choir. all the information on the site is convincing if true, but by making it sound biased from the headline, who else is going to read or trust it but those who already believe in it?

Obviously you have fallen right into the hands of those who are accusing the left of insulting General Betraeus. As the good and loyal soldier he is, Petraus will do as he is told. The Commander-In-Chief wishes his message spun a certain way he will follow orders and spin as reqired. Don't blame the general he is following orders from the "comander guy".

I see your moveon.org renewal membership card came in the mail this morning. Don't you find it a bit odd that your heroes in congress where screaming about Bush not listening to his generals and were all praises when he appoint the current commander and now they are calling for an independent assessment? I'm all for the troops getting the heck out of there but it has be done right so they won't ever have to go back! This serious flip-flop attitude of the dems will come back to haunt them with elections coming up. I'm a non-party affiliation voter and I'm taking notes and I'm not liking what I'm seeing from them.

Dem's long ago decided he will lie and all facets of the report will be BS, now they just need to hear it to start the attack.

Monk is referring to the New York Times article which has set the general up for failure before he has even given the report.

Talk about being open minded...

Thanks for the 2 Left wing tool!

If you are referring to General Petreaus then the answer is no. He is a man of principal. I am not surprised to see a liberal such as yourself stoop so low as to call a person names when you do not know this person nor can you offer any facts to support your remarks. You will make lies about the general reguardless of what is said and what the fact are. Your question implies your qualities....

I guess if you define a lie as any good news about Iraq you be right.

I am waiting to see what he has to say first that is part of being open minded.

Please remember Congress voted him to go there.
