Just got the plans through for "Jumbo Magnum Marshmallow/Water Accelerator" ( A rather large waterpistol to you and me)
Anyway, the parts list specifies "Schedule 40 PVC tubing". My local plumbers merchant doesn't stock it and doesn't recommend using waste/soil pipe taking into acccount your pumping up to 80psi into it.
Any ideas on a UK equivalent?

Gnome: We have things called compressors on this side of the water. Now if you Yanks want to do things the hard way (whats new there then) then go head, but me, I'd rather just flick a switch and let a machine do the work..... It's called ingenuity. Us Brits are pretty good at it.

oh, and as for finding a piece of sprinkler hose 3"s think.... well, unless you have the number of a fountain company, I think I'm onto a loser there.

Schedule 40 (Sch 40 pvc pipe) pipes are rated on wall thickness. Due to this fact the pressure ratings for the size of pipe will vary. The pressure ratings are as follows:

Pipe Size Pressure Rating
1/2" Sch 40 Fittings 600 psi
3/4" Sch 40 Fittings 480 psi
1" Sch 40 Fittings 450 psi
1 1/4" Sch 40 Fittings 370 psi
1 1/2" Sch 40 Fittings 330 psi
2" Sch 40 Fittings 280 psi
2 1/2" Sch 40 Fittings 300 psi
3" Sch 40 Fittings 260 psi
4" Sch 40 Fittings 220 psi
6" Sch 40 Fittings 180 psi
8" Sch 40 Fittings 160 psi
10" Sch 40 Fittings 140 psi
12" Sch 40 Fittings 130 psi

this might help explain it all.

EDIT Mr. Bongo aka. smarty pants.
IF YOUR PRESSURE is generated from manual compression, you have nothing to worry about, most of you British men have scrawny arms and I doubt you could come close to pumping 80psi.
Why don't you just try blowing spit wads thru a drinking straw.

If you're really bound and determined, just go to your local hardware store and pick up plastic pipe that is generally used for lawn sprinkler systems ( or do you not have sprinklers since it rains so much there? ) and use that. I doubt you're going to hurt yourself unless you slice off a finger with the pipe cutter while attempting NOT to follow the remaining directions for assembly. .

Edit: On second thought you may just have the strength in your arms you W*nk*r.

Have you asked for schedule 80 pipe? Without knowing what size pipe you are talking about, here are a couple of examples for you: 1/2 " schedule 80 pvc is rated for a working pressure of 509 psi- 4" schedule 80 is rated for 194 psi. The in-between sizes vary (smaller being stronger),and the actual bursting pressures are much, much higher than the working pressure ratings.

I was in high school from 2007-2011 the popular kids were cliche and not at the same time. 1. They wear AE, Aeropostal, etc; they have coach bags and wore plenty of makeup 2. They were the children of doctors, lawyers, the rich people 3. Football payers were as stupid as bricks and sometimes not the most popular. Being athletic (no matter the sport) made you more likely to become popular, something I never rightly understood. Another oddity was that many people in marching band were popular. i.e. they hardly feel under the nerdy, awkward stereotype. 4. You also described the popular students very well as that it was similar here too. ( fashionable, funny, slutty sometimes, they drink, do sexual stuff to get attention, skip class but get good grades). I always thought it was weird how many popular kids were athletic and on the A-honor roll. The cheese growing on trees thing is funny, but I believe that could happen. There are people who are so stupid, so, so stupid and it's worse in teens.

A plastic pipe used for pressurized water lines would work, don't know the equivalent, but schedule 40 is used in pressurized situations.
