Having three children myself, I have witnessed how media violence affects my children. I want to know about studies that have been done, and about other cases.

Realize that the study of media vilence is an INCREDIBLE topic of DEBATE. You need to pratice common sense here and just stay away from the outside sources regarding it. This isn't about the "greater community" this is about your "family unit". What you need to understand that want makes violence such a hard subject for a wee one to handle has everything to do with how there raised and little to do with the stimula envolved. Really what you need to do is pratice a general rule of thumb. DON'T LET YOU KIDDO: Watch TV that has issues or content that you not "comfrontable" talking with you kiddo about. Me personal have watched every concieveable level of violence since before I could put words to it. If I credit me not becoming a pysco-murder or a bed-wetter all my life, it was the fact that my parents, frist watched it with me, plus two were there to answer my questions and keep my mind in reality. See really if you there to "walk" your kid thru the experience, it can only be benifitucal. Now if you down play it, neglect it, and just allow them to watch it by themselves, they can develop "unaided" all KINDS of different perverse views. Thats why its just a good basic rule of thumb, "Don't let them watch content your not comfrontable with them talking to you about, or learning about at there age". Stay away from case studies and the like, really the school shooting, the increase in street violence, has everything to do with parental neglect and nothing to do with the level of violence they've watch. Of course the FCC doesn't want you to think its anyones responsibility to raise your kids but TV, but thats a horse of another color.....
