All babies reach milestones at different rates. My first daughter got her first tooth at 8 months but my twins got theirs at 5 months and 9 months. My first daughter walked at 9 months but the twins didn't walk until they were 15 months.
They all get there in the end, just at different times, so try not to worry, I'm sure she'll get some teeth soon.

Don't even give it a second thought. Neither of my baby's had cut their first teeth by 11months of age. And I was very active in community parenting groups and I remember many baby's were just like mine. Although there were some that had teeth by 7mo and one or two by 4mo. Unbelievable Huh. The same goes for sitting up, crawling, standing and walking. But helping them along by letting them pull up on your fingers, or balancing them a little while they are sitting up/standing up so that they learn balance, and strengthen muscles will help their milestones advance from first try to finished skill a little quicker. I know it helps to have memories of an earlier child's advancements but just remember each and every child is unique. And work really, really hard to never, never raise your voice and yell at your special little ones as it seems to me I hear a lot of yelling or name calling anymore. and sakes alive its not the children doing it its the moms and dads.

I was asking my doctor something similar today.

My son is 9 months old and has no teeth! He's reaching all his other milestones OK (a bit slow with his weaning though) and I'm worried about this.

The Dr said not to worry and he'll get them when he's good and ready - some babies are well over a year before they get their first teeth!!

I got my very first tooth when I was 13 months old. My first baby tooth didn't fall out until I was 8, and my last when I was 14.

Now, aged 30, I have great teeth, no fillings or anything.

yes, totally normal.

all children develop at different rates and some babies can be born with teeth and some don't have any till 18 months.

cutting teeth isn't a sign of her maturity, nor intelligence, nor physical development - they will just come when they are ready.

I understand it is *extremely* rare for a baby never to cut them - a visit to the dentist should reassure you if she still hasn't any at 18 months, but i bet she will have a head full by then :-)

Try not to worry. x

my eldest daughter was 13 months before she had a tooth and then it was a canine tooth. her son is 1 in 2 wks and he only has one, where as my other grandson who is 7 months has 2 an dhis older brother had 2 at 4 months. all are different and u will find i think that they all start popping thru together and i found that it was much easier than if they are younger, i had no sleepless nights. good luck.

Don't worry - they will appear when they are ready. My Granddaughter who is just over 13 months only starting showing her teeth a few weeks ago.

All children are different and your baby seems to be quite normal in her development.

Please don't worry - enjoy the time and all the "firsts" to come.
