I like Diamond. I had a student with that name years ago. Suited her perfectly, she was blonde and wonderful.

When you want to choose your child's name always ask yourself: What will the kids on the playground do with this name? You will save your child so much emotional and/or physical pain.
Just think of all the "twinkle, twinkle little star" jokes , as well as all the things the other answerer's said. Sapphire would become sap or fire and go downhill from there. Kids are cruel sometimes!
My kids are grown and gone and I picked out names that were nice and not too far out.
Just for fun though, I think the name Jade or Jada is pretty - even though it does sound like a character in a Harlequin Romance novel.

Diamond is a pretty name ! Sapphire isn't that cute but diamond is pretty ! When i just answered a question someone wanted to name their child some Spice that u would put in your food

For some reason those names are associated with strippers and exotic dancers. They are beautiful names with a bad reputation.

I think it's a pretty middle name. My sister in law is "Melody Diamond", and I think that's really nice. Making it a first name may get the child made fun of, though. You have to remember how mean kids can be, no matter how nice you think the name is.
