they both need it....but Carr is on a hotter seat...while everybody but Weis realizes that this year is not only a building year.......but a total overhaul. So If there is continual improvemnet, Weis should weather the storm. Carr nneeds to win from here out, and especially against OSU to have a chance.

*Emiller.......ranked highly? Last I checked they started the season unranked. Which is how it should have been....but certain schools..(not just ND), get the benefit of the doubt every year....ones like USC, OSU and Michigan.....of which only USC has lived up to the hype (for the most part.....losing two games to nobody teams,(which is what they were at the time, unranked)...and having people voting them as #1????

that my man, would be overranked.

*edit....I was using the last 5 years actually........ but if you go back fifteen....you will see a few teams change... but the patterns the same...(guess you could throw in the Canes through all the 90's)...that's all I'm saying......but like Coach Weis himself says....unfortunately ANYTHING Notre Dame does....good or bad......gets blown way outta proportion. And as a Fan...I would be the first to say that ND had no business against LSU last year.....but obviously, there were plenty of mismatches, just like every year. And the delightful schedules Notre Dame keeps giving themselves never help....aside form LSU, which team actually played against real football teams for their first two games.....?

it is going to be thrilling. those 2 storied courses could desire to positioned a lot of emphasis in this interest. Michigan has been a curler coaster the final 5 years with tremendous seasons (04 and 06), good season (07), ho hum (05) and atrocious season (08). Notre Dame's curler coaster has been the extra useful element of 13 years and 2007 campaign reflected Michigan's 2008 season. i think of the two those communities are interior the potential of taking a step interior the main suitable course this 12 months yet nonetheless no longer returned to elite status, each getting 8 or 9 wins this 12 months dropping to any actual tier communities they face off against. it is going to likely be a exciting interest yet on the sloppy side. Michigan 33 Notre Dame 27

Michigan needs it much worse that Nortre Dame. At least ND can use the excuse that they are a young team, they're rebuilding and blah blah blah.
What's U of M's excuse?! They practically have the same team they had last year and they aren't doing squat. Lloyd Carr is SO finished, no matter the outcome.

This weekend is going to be rare....I'm sure a lot of people will be tuning in to watch two 0-2 teams meet. That's a first. lol.
(Okay, okay. I'll be watching too!)

Michigan needs it worse. They were expected to be good and Carr really needs it. They hate him up there even when he wins. The Detroit Free Press said Carr should do the right thing and offer to resign. Nobody really expects Notre Dame to be good these days because the haven't really had a good team in about 15 years. They are just ranked highly because its Notre Dame.

Mongo - I didn't say this year. How many times have we seen them get into a high bowl game with their weak schedule and some losses and get blown out?

Michigan needs this real bad. Notre Dame was kinda expected to be bad this year with the quarterback platoon and smaller talent pool to draw from. Michigan is expected to just re-load every year with new talent, and to be embarassed in the season opener like they were has lit the fire under Coach Carr's chair.

Michigan really needs the win there. Carr is probably out after this year anyway, but everyone expected Notre Dame to be bad.

Michigan needs the win, but I don't think one is coming their way. Pitt is coming to town with a 2-0 record and will be looking to add another win.

Me being a U-M fan, you would think i would go for Michigan. But, because i think Loyd Carr is one of the worst U-M coaches ever and needs to be fired, Notre Dame has to win this game.

Michigan.....because they are in a conference.they have to still go through a rough conference schedule to right the ship.if they lose to notre dame, they will pro bally lose about 7 games this year.that will hurt recruiting big time.and Carr will be history.

notre dame is still notre dame.weis is set for years with his contract.their schedule is weak enough where they could go 0-3...turn it around...get 6-7 wins...and still get a bowl bid.because all smaller bowls would love to have a big name like notre dame come to their bowl

Notre Dame, they still have a chance to get a BCS game because of the BS set-up for them to get it and the voters bias that ranks them too high.
