According to Sky news the police are giving their report to the prosecutor today and don't even want to wait for the rest of the tests.

Hello Goldfish,
As the documents have only just been sent to the Portugese equivelent of the UK's Crown Prosecution Service, I consider it is very unlikey that they will be prosecuted today, if they are prosecuted at all.
I don't know about the way the Portugese work but in the UK I am sure you know that anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Having said that, as you say it is very interesting that the file has been sent to the Prosecution Service before the Portugese police have received the full forensic evidence, if indeed there is more.

the portugal police without doubt feel their case is pretty tight, just read in daily mail that once you've been named as a suspect, the p.p. have 18MONTHS to come up with a case to prosecute you, and they've already handed papers to their prosecutor within a matter of 48 hours, and like you said, without the rest of the test results from england. its devastating, but there seems to be some sort of case against the mccanns.

The police will be pressing charges as soon as they receive the rest of the dna test results.The McCanns know it, that's why they've been so quick to go back to the uk and get their lawyers ready. The fund will pay for them, of course.

I dont know but I hope anytime soon they find out so that at least if her body is found, she can be laid to rest. I have no proof that they killed her and neither do they as yet but they will find it it's only a matter of time

I don't think that they'll be able to build a decent enough case against them. The police bungled in the beginning and allowed the crime scene to be trashed. They're the ones to blame, they're stupid.
A lawyer will probably be able to pull the case apart pretty quickly.
I think that they'll get off with it.

If they are and they have done this they must both be
quite devious pieces of work.
To most of us parents this is beyond our comprehension
so i suppose we are hoping and praying Madeleine is found
and all the rest is rubbish.

They might but I thought they were letting them go becuase of lack of evidence to charge them. I believe they need to arrested and charged but the law is grey here.
