Is it true that if you are unable to ovulate and produce an egg then that means that IVF or ICSI would be pointless to do, or can they extract the egg from within, even if you dont ovulate?

what im saying is if they give you medication and you never ovulate still, does that mean you cannot do IVF or is there a way around that?

You don't want to ovulate for IVF. they give you meds to stim your follicales into maturing multiple eggs. When they are mature and your lining is ready they will go in a retrieve the eggs from your follicles (before you would ovulate them) and then they would be fertilized and when ready implanted into your uterus.

Its a tricky question... If u totally dont ovulate, then IVF cannot help u. IVF is taking a mature egg out and fertilising it with a sperm. If u dont ovulate that means u don't have mature eggs. In that case what will the doctor get out to be fertilised?! IVF is good if u ovulate but for some reason u dont get pregnant. Can be due to plocked tubes, "bad sperms" mucus that effects sperms... etc. But i dont believe ithelps if u dont ovulate in the first place. Sorry, but that is what I know about IVF.

Good luck to you.

Well if you are still getting eggs in your ovaries than they should be able to extract them, mix them with sperm and after fertilization, implant them back into you.
If you don't have any viable eggs (sterile), you can still do IVF but with donor eggs and hubby's sperm maybe.

hope that helps

You can still do IVF. I remember when I was going through it they told me that there would be a chance that nothing could happen that month.

It is very dissapointing but give it another go.
