The first one, I said I've had enough, I want a divorce I will be moving out by such and such date.
The second one, was psycho-I feared for my life at times...so I began to live up to all the accusations and name calling. Lazy, stupid, ugly *****...etc, etc. I just quit cleaning, cooking, talking, partying....I would go to work, come home, climb into bed and go to sleep. I just gave up, no matter what I did I was wrong so I couldn't try any more. I signed over the house when he refinanced. Finally my day came, he told me to get my sorry @ss out. I already had a place, so I called 2 men and a truck they loaded up my stuff and I was gone. Filed for divorce 5 months later....never looked back. Life is much better. It had to be his idea or he would have harassed me to know end. I can't say that he didn't try, but after a few months being away I had become strong enough to tell him to go F himself when he would try to manipulate me.

Do you really want a divorce? If you're not sure you can tell your spouse maybe you still have an unconscious hope that it can work out. I told my ex-husband over the phone because he was violent. I didn't know how he would react. I already had my stuff packed in the car and a place to stay. If you want a divorce becuase you've met someone else, I would probably do it over the phone and have your stuff...things could get violent...they don't call them "crimes of passion" for nothing. If you aren't in love anymore...get counseling. Find that spark again. You do not want to be single it sucks. Good luck!

A candid discussion is always best. Just tell him that you're not happy and that you can't see moving forward. If you are in fear of his reaction, then you can ask him to dinner and do it in a public place. He's less likely to react negatively. If you choose the latter, make sure you have clothing and essential items to stay in a hotel for a few days or with friends. You can also ask one of yoru friends to be a mediator and be present while you tell him if don't want to go to a public place, but that's probably a lot of pressure.

Be clear... sit down together and tell him it isn't working for you and the only way out for you is a divorce... and you want out of the marriage.

you can settle things as easily as you can between you if there is not a lot of assets to fight over or it will be a long drawn out contested divorce with attorneys. Good luck

The magic word is 'communication' . The reason for the divorce makes a difference to how you ask, if it is a case that the fire has died and you want to move on then speak to the person if they have not done anything wrong then do not be nasty with them please.

Try marriage guidance if it is just boredam

I told him that I knew he was cheating and that I wanted him to leave. He left but came back a few days later and wanted to try to make it work. We arranged for counseling and went twice. Came home after second session and went to bed. Woke up to find him on the phone with her and trying to make arrangements to meet. Thats when I threw him and his things out of the house. Then filed for divorce.
