No they dont. Some of the best comedies I have seen have been British. My mother was a Brit and she had a great sense of humor. Their humor is more subtle but still funny.

We have a highly developed sense of self-deprecating humour and are very good with irony. Of course, the problem is that Americans don't understand either type of humour.

Think of all the following great comedies Britain has given the world:

Dad's Army

The Goon Show

The Office

The League of Gentlemen

The Goodies

The Two Ronnies

Birds of a Feather

The Kumars

Absolutey Fabulous

Mr Bean

Blackadder

The Edinburgh Comedy Festival

Billy Connelly...

Need I say more?

Sorry but I disagree : British people have a huge sense of humour and normally it`s in their blood. Whether is subtle, ironic, sarcastic, black...it shows class and brains. I laugh with tears everytime I chat with someone from England.

they do have a sense of humor, it's just that compared to us, thier humor is considered "dry" and it's true. I watch "Black adder," "upstairs/downstairs, vicar of dibley, etc., and thier stuff sound funny, but i dont laugh at it. it's dry humor.

Not true at all. Ever checked out any of their top comedies?

Perhaps their form is not as childish and scatological as we Americans, maybe that is why so many Americans feel this way.
