I've given myself a budget for a new music system of around £100, what's the best I could get for that?
I'm just looking for something with pretty good sound quality and maybe has sockets for extensions like a turntable or ipod dock, bigger speakers.
D you think thi one would be ok? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5129924/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500006565.Sound%2Band%2Bvision%3EC%24cip%3D1500006592.Home%2Baudio.htm

I have an old Sony RX77S (FROM 1998)In silver that works fine that is just collecting dust. I am going to put it in the bin next week if I cant find a home for it. If you live local you can collect it if you want it for FREE. It does not have all the latest gismo,s but it Plays 3 CD,s and tapes. and is 160 watts. Free for local collection. If it is still here next Wednesday it goes in the bin.

Stay well clear of Goodmans! It's poorly made tat, I'm afraid.

The problem is you're not going to get much for £100 (my speaker cables cost more than that - each) and good sound quality is right off the menu at that price. You need to spend around £400-£500 for something basic, but with reasonable sound quality.

Check out the Richer Sounds website for some ideas.

Your Argos 'maybe' is okayish. It is not one of the better brands out there but it will do the job for you.
I am suggesting an alternative, you could always spend the money on a set of decent speakers for your PC.

Looks okay-ish, but also looks a bit tacky. But if thats all you can afford, it should do the trick for you
