I am one of them! I am still here now but I am trying to leave. I guess because there are more freedoms in Europe and the political and cultural atmosphere are better! People are just more laid back and accepting..

:)

Well for those talking about Americans leaving because of the number of immigrants coming to the US then they obviously don't realise that Europe is also full of immigrants.

Britain has lots from Eastern Europe, and asia, Ireland has 300,000 polish, Germany, several million from the Middle East, France, Spain and Portugal have many immigrants from Africa.

The reason is probably because there is more freedom in Europe. People in Europe aren't being spied on by their governments, they are more open to other cultures as several European countires have land borders with at least four other countries if not more. Europe also has a cultural history unlike the US. Each country in Europe has been around in some shape or form for much longer than the US.

Laws are not as prohibitive in Europe. Take Holland. Maybe Americans are flocking to Holland for the drugs and prostitutes. I was in Amsterdam last weekend and the place was filled with Americans. Ireland (my home country) doesn't seem to attract too many Americans (except the west coast). Germany (Hamburg my new city) is not flush with Americans either but I have noticed an increase in numbers.

For the most part, these Americans who come to Europe are much more level headed and reasonable than those who think travelling to disney land is a foreign holiday. Those criticising Americans leaving for Europe are probably those who have never travelled outside the US or indeed if they did have only done so for a few days and were frightened by the experience because people didn't speak English and there wasn't a Mac Donalds on every corner.

Maybe those Americans leaving the states for Europe are sick of fast food, weak beer, crap TV, bias in the media, bad health care (most European countries rank above the US in health care) and lack of social conscience.

Maybe they want good food, good wine and beer, varied media, good health care, 30 days paid holiday per year, better job security, and more freedom from government spying.

Because in Europe there is a European culture that is not being destroyed by immigrants from third-world nations, like in the US. Euro-descended Americans have the same mindsets of Europeans today, and they would rather live in that type of culture, a culture which America has sadly ceased to become, due to over-immigration from third-world countries.

They are afraid Hillary might get elected.

Trying to protect the assets they worked all their lives for.

I'm between Australia and Costa Rica as my Hillary escape route.

I'm afraid that Australia may be too economically linked to the US and while Hillary will give the US the economic flu, they may get pneumonia.

Costa Rica is a truly economically independent nation.
