I would and I have out of necessity.
My husband and mines car died in a national park. We had to hitch a ride down to the nearest town to buy the parts we needed, and hitch a ride back up to where our car sat.

I have thought about it a few times, but as a woman I don't know if I feel altogether safe with the concept anymore. I figure the person who pulls over to pick you up is either very nice or very creepy, so you have a 50-50 chance at best of being ok...

Yes, a nice young man gave me a ride last week. He put my walker in the car for me and took it out when we reached Roller Haven. He was so nice.
