it's a NAME for the spice, why can't it be a name for a girl?

No, that is a name of a spice on Blue's Clues. Please don't name children after food or spices.

Sorry, she will get teased in school! Ginger is probably the only spice acceptable as a name. I knew someone who went to school with a Cinnamon. But, If you really like the name "Paprika", make it a middle name and give your daughter a common first name! :)

Paprika would definitely add colour and spice to your dishes but I do not think your child will appreciate being named after ground sweet pepper...

If you are looking to create another member of the Posh, Scary, Baby, Sporty clan, sure. Like you said, it's the NAME of a SPICE. THAT is why it shouldn't be the NAME OF A GIRL.

It sounds nice when you say it, but I'd really worry about boys getting the *WRONG* impression that she was 'hot and spicy'. If I named my daughter Paprika, my mother-in-law would predict that she would be pregnant by the age of fourteen. :/

I miss names like Stephanie, and Mary, Julia, Jennifer, Zoe (well I can never use Zoe, I named my cat Zoe... :P)

Personally ,,I think that is somewhat "limiting". Maybe you should broaden your mind a bit and name her "SPICES". That way she might grow up to be a bit more "flexible". Names often influence the character of the person.

It was a good enough name for Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper to name their first born on Blues Clues.
