Let's not be "sarcastic" re: the use of the adjective "hero" in your question. I am a big supporter of our president but my only real" hero "in life is my daughter. I think the Republicans are taking a big hit, however, I also know we are a strong party and won't go "poof" in this current crisis! We do need a "suit' in this next election, you are right about this!

I don't see it.
The Democrats claimed that the American people voted for change in 2006. The fact is that they hold the majority by a very slim margin.
Other than the minimum wage, they have changed nothing.
They have not been able to unite to make the changes they promised.
George Bush, the so-called dumbest man in America, has, with the Republican Party, managed to out-maneuver the democrats at every turn.
Consequently, the Congress has achieved it's lowest rating in history in record time. The percentage of Americans with a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in Congress is at 14%, the lowest in Gallup's history of this measure -- and the lowest of any of the 16 institutions tested in this year's Confidence in Institutions survey. It is also one of the lowest confidence ratings for ANY institution tested over the last three decades.

The most recent Republican Debate, out-rated all other previous Democratic debates.

To suggest that the Republicans have hurt their chances in '08 and can not win, is an expression of complacency that I hope continues among Democrats.

Republicans are following behind Bush in his escalation of the War in Iraq and rightly so since the insurgent Al Quada are beginning to fold. If the Republicans would only gather more strengh through numbers and get behind McCain I believe he would be the next President. All of the ideas by George W. Bush are smart and forward looking such as the privatizing of Social Security to accommodate the increase in Mexican illegals when they retire. The new medicare supplemental plan increases income for investors in pharmacutical corporations. We have a winner and should follow his wake.
Thanks

No. Mr. Bush has done a good job in some areas: the economy and the war against terrorism.

Republicans running for office should repudiate Mr. Bush's liberal leanings: Medicare drug plan and lack of action on stopping illegal immigration.

According to democrats America is the worst country, they do stand around like a bunch of vultures just waiting to do more harm.
If they hadn't made out that the war was viet nam, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on, all their so called policies have been rejected time and again.
So dems don't really stand for anything but failure.

The Left is banking on it. With Hillary they have to pad with something.

ADDED: Democrats have had since November of 2006 to show us how it should be done. Their own record is our asset going into the next election. JMO

Well, seeing as that the Republican were swept from office in '06, and, that Bush has low approval ratings nationally, and, that key states are leaning Democratic in polls taken in recent weeks, the answer has to be a resounding, yes.
