Because you have a vagina. If you have not begun menstruation it is a sign that you will begin. If you have started it can be a sign that it is on its way.
The vagina is self cleaning and the discharge is part of the natural process.
If you have a smell with the discharge or if it is chunky usually white to yellowish it is a sign of infection. As well your labia can become inflamed and itchy which can indicate infection. If the discharge is kind of slimy and shiney it is a sign of ovulation.

You NEED discharge. Every woman gets it once she reaches puberty. It keeps you vagina healthy. Discharge is nothing to be worried about, you need it. If it changes color (anything other than white, pale yellow, or clear), texture (something like cottage cheese), or odor (there will be a slight odor, but if it gets really bad or changes) then you should go to a doctor.

it's normal for women to have vaginal discharge, sexually active of not...it's amount is copious if your fertile (that's about 14 days after your period)..don't worry unless your discharge starts to smell weird( normally, it's musky and arromatic) and changes its color
