wouldn't it more appropriate for big bird to have been called Tall Bird???

Big bird starts with a "b," and, therefore, fits well. Tall bird would sound awkward.

nope. He is "big" bird. Have you ever taken a look at his backside or feet?
and if you're going that slant on it, wouldnt it have been more appropriate to give a wooly mammoth an actual name, like "Oscar", while oscar himself, as a monster as it is, should have been called "Snuffalupagus", which sounds more a monster name anyway?

and by the way...if you or anyone you know has kids who watch Sesame Street, save their poor little souls while you can! Old Skool sesame street was really the only time it was worth watching.

Think about it in television they do a lot of research. On thing I will tell you children love to shorten words imagine what Tall Bird will be TB as post to BB.

well, I rather my girlfriend call my bird Big instead of tall, but it does stand tall at times, now that I think of it
