I have been having problems with my.. um, lady parts. I went to see a gynocologist, but the problem keeps coming back. I have pain during sex, a fowl smell, and a discharge that is kind of yellowish green. What could this be? Do I have an STD or something?

Several things come to mind. You mentioned that it "keeps coming back" which sounds like it has come back more than once. Many times if it comes back, it's because it never fully went away to begin with, usually due to a missed dosage of antibiotic or stopping the antibiotics before they are all gone because you think the infection is gone. If this is the case, you need to tell your doctor about it. But maybe you say "I took the antibiotics exactly like the doctor ordered". In that case, your doctor may want to call in a different medicine for you, or have you come back in. But it's important to let your doctor know right away if the problems re-appear because that's the only way you can get it cleared up. It sounds like some type of infection, but only the doctor can tell you for sure what kind. Also, there some infections where your partner must also be treated. Otherwise it will keep coming back(as you said) if both aren't treated at the same time. But your doctor will know by checking you if it's the type that involves both partners. No need to freak him out with that info unless it's necessary. :) Best wishes and happy health.

Part of the problem could be related to infection called bacterial vaginosis (because of the smell you describe). Please call your doctor back and let them know that you are very concerned about these symptoms and want to find out in further detail what they think is going on. If they say nothing is wrong then I would recommend getting another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor that you currently see.

I think you have a case of thrush. You need to treat this with an anti fungal pessary. Also your partner needs to be treated as well as you will both keep reinfecting each other. Try eating yoghurt. Eat half the tub and then put the other half in your ...um, lady parts.

Did they test you for STDs? And if you had yeast infection you can give it to your signifigant other and if its a male they will get it without showing any signs. And give it right back to you so if thats it then they need to be treated with antibiotics also.
