Air.
Nothing like going to the airport, checking in your bags, go through security, wait a while then hear the jets fire up on the runway then seeing the city that you were in like you could crush it with your finger!
And while you are in the air, you can do what you want from 1000's of metres above. Sleep, Talk, you can even work on your laptop!
Air travel is my 1st pick.....even over a car!

I would use my car, the simple reason for me is that the public trasport service where I live is not that good. If I was to go out into town at night and get a bus home it drops me off on a main road and then I would have to walk 15 mins home. It would not be safe if I were alone. If the service was better I may use public transport more. Although with the price of buses these days it would cost me like money in petrol to get from A - B.
