I live in an area that is home to people from many different cultures and so far have yet to have any trouble.

Once I was at a club in Toronto in the late 70s and my friend and I went to the washroom. There was a group of about four or five black women lounging around in the washroom, and they began to tear me apart verbally...they mocked my clothes, shoes, hair, everything. I was nervous that it might turn physical, but it didn't.

The womens' behaviour made me very uncomfortable, though I tried not to show it.

I chose to ignore them.

The saddest thing I've seen was when I saw these girls Lynx and Lamb Gaede on the documentary Louis and the Nazis
on BBC. 2 girls growing up with incredibly ignorant parents who teach them to hate any race but white for no appearant reason. It's not the girls fault they didn't have a chance (hopefully as they grow up they'll see how crazy it all really is) and they tour singing at racist gatherings in the US and in Europe. To hear these girls say such horrible things about people they knew nothing about and see their sicko mother sitting there smiling was...horrific!

i live in london and in the evening on my way home with some of my friends we came across some discusting excuses for human beings who were smashing a young "muslim"* guy with beer bottles and kicking him all over and in the face shouting ignorant racial abuse at him while the girl he was with was cowering screaming and crying by a shop door... it was horrible i was desperate to call the police and report it but my friends were insistent that i dont as by the time they would get there the culprits would all be gone (i still regret that i didnt!) and no doubt the girl he was with had already done so, barely minutes later they ran off in different directions, the victim thankfully was able to get up (probably through adrenaline rush) and started running away to, with the girl running after him, it all happened so quickly, the disgusting thing is knowing how often all this happens!

* (he wasn't neccesarily muslim but in the context of their racial attack, it was the fact he looked like he could be, and even if he was, i hate how people feel that because it was a muslim group responsible for such horrors, you can take out your anger through ignorance on anyone who shares that religion)

Haha, well, the most racist thing I've ever seen was when one of the customers that came into my store said he'd rather be helped by a rodent than one of our black associates...But I went to Wal-Mart one time, bumped into an old guy on accident, and he turned around a called me an effin guinea (which is funny as hell cause i'm not italian! ^_^)

"Sir, you cannot bring this woman into this establishment...
Why not?
She is black, and prostitutes are not allowed.
But she's my wife. And her Uncle is the President."

This was a conversation that took place between my coworker, his wife and a 5-star hotel doorman in Kenya. The door man was a local national also. I saw more black-on-black racism in Africa than I ever heard of in the US...

My coworker married the neice of Daniel Moi, who just happened to be the president at the time. Needless to say, we never saw that doorman again.

It came from some members of my own family, who will remain unnamed.

Anyway, he comes in the door with a couple of friends. One of them is black.

In the course of the conversation, I'm asked, "You know the difference between a black person and a n*gger, don't you?"

They proceeded to explain that the black friend there wasn't a n*gger, because he didn't like hip-hop or speak in ebonics, or identify with black culture in any way.

The black guy agreed and said he thought black people like that were a disgrace, basically.

I came away with that sad that this young man probably was ashamed to be black on some level and was putting up with bull-crap racism in order to feel accepted. Of course, he wouldn't have described it that way.

But one day he may find that he wants to identify with what some people refer to as "black culture," and find his identity as a proud black man.

Bobby D ...thumbs down for you. Racism should not be tolerated and it unfortunately is mostly a white problem. The whites need to educate their children. Programs offered in schools, workplace and cultural centers. Children should be taught from the bottom up the injustice of racism and ignorance. It starts at home and early childhood education. Maybe if you get them young you can show them the evil of some peoples ways.
