Well the thing is if you have had the same bf for a long period of time and you know that he does not have any std's then i would say the most reliable and convenient is the implant or coil as they are around 98% and you don't have to remember to take it every day. If you change partners or you don't know if he is carrying any thing i would suggest to use a condom until he get cheeked and you know 100% that he is not carrying any thing else.

I think I've tried every contraceptive known to man, so here goes:

1) Injection. Yes it's easy, but it's hormones messing with your body in large doses and I don't think that's healthy. Also, you're likely to bloat up.

2) Pill. Again, messes with your hormones and turns you into a moody cow if you're not lucky.

3) Coil - don't recommend, unless you're fine with the thought of a plastic barb floating about inside you

3) Diaphragm - easy peasy and great to use, unless you can't handle handling your hoo-hah...

4) Condoms - great. Prevent infection and babies on demand.

5) Abstinence. The best form of contraception there is, and probably the most cranially stimulating...

i wouldve said depo-provera a few months ago yes you do not have a period and a little weight gain is normal what they do not tell you is once you get off it can take 18 months to get back to normal.i did this and i got off a year ago and still occasionally have 3 periods a month.i would say the pill its easy to take and reliable as long as you remember to take it everyday, make a time either when you wake up or before you go to bed and keep them in a spot where you wont miss them in case you do forget!

Depo-provera is the most convenient and reliable, you do not have to remember to take tablets and you have it every 3 months by injection. the only problem is that it can take a long time to get pregnant after coming off it.

Abstinence is the only 100% effective form of birth control.

All others are at most 99% effective.

Sterilisation, but my GP won't give it to me. Boo hoo.

I don't recommend abstinence as it takes the fun away.
