In china, what will happen if you get caught doing graffiti red-handed? What are the punishments you get? Are there different laws for those who are of different ages?

There doesn't seem to be any, in fact they seem to love it, contrary to the feelings of the populous here in the West.

You can ask the Chinese Embassy or Consolate if in doubt.

Caught red-handed? LOL

They take this offense rather seriously in China. Re-education and forced labor, perhaps, for first offense, and you could be executed for a second offense and your family would be billed for the bullet.

In Singapore you would be caned. If you are American your wealthy parents and the US Embassy would not be able to get you off the hook.

Only in America do people tend to ignore or treat lightly this type of destruction and anti-social behavior. In China parents are held accountable for the behavior of children. Parents can be beaten, fined, ridiculed or imprisoned for offenses of their children. If a parent or neighbor (or stranger) caught a kid defacing property in china he would probably suffer a good beating administered by whoever is present.

Edit: Yes, they love art in China but there is a serious difference between vandalism and permitted wall-art.
