did the mccanns visit the pope to get absolutions for their crime?

we all assumed at the time that it was for him to pray for madeleine, and to maybe jog the 'abductor' (or someone who had evidence) into owning up. Now I wonder if all those church visits, and the visit to the pope was to ask forgiveness...

faith: i didnt say they were guilty. I'm asking a question in case they are guilty. You have no need to be abusive.
First question I have asked on yahoo and shocked to get such a nasty reponse.
My own feeling is that they have behaved bizarrely from the start although it never occurred to me that they committed murder. I havent accused them, the police (both portuguese and british) have, and so has the evidence.
Is that true that the pope asked them to visit? Any link?

No, Kate was asked by the Pope to visit him: not the other way round! The fact she is religious does not mean she is guilty and praying for absolution. I don't know how you can think this, but I guess the McCanns publicity is ruining the tourist industry in the resort and everything is being done to tarnish the McCann's reputation to save their pockets. I think it is awful.

Dunno why i'm even bothering to answer this inane question but here goes...
Your question is based on the fact that the McCanns are guilty. Are they? Haven't yet got the news...Oh! they aren't!
There is no PROOF that they murdered their own baby.

So, basically, what you're doing here is presuming that they are guilty based on wild speculation, conjecture & accusations made by the media & folk who love a witch-hunt.

Apart from the slanderous & libelous nature of your question, its dumb to the extreme as the Church respects the Law and does not like many folk around here, consider itself to be the Law.
