The Liberals are like a pack of sinking rats, scrambling around looking for something to climb onto so they can save themselves. But they can't see past their own egos so they have missed the massive hole they have dug for themselves through the introduction of these IR laws and the blind insistence on their new Australian nuclear policy. The people have been sending them a message that we are sick of being ignored. But through their arrogance and their total disrespect and disdain they have shown for the Australian people they are about to face the greatest defeat in Australian political history. John Howard has had it!! He will not go quietly but he will certainly go and he will take the Liberal party and all its stuck up, self interested, soulless nincompoops with him.

God save Australia........because nothing can save John Howard!

The essence of life is renewal. We have seen many a long term Labor premiers handing the reigns over to their deputies lately in the name of renewing their life as a political party. This is a good thing as it keeps the flow of fresh energy inot the leadership going, as we see new leaders we see new and better ideas coming forward. With old stubborn johnny we see the same old miserable grumy old man hanging on with that squirrel grip, not letting go to alow a fresh direction for his own party's good this will lead him down the path of failure as people see him as old with old ideas and nothing new coming from the liberal party. Not to mention they have fcuked up our country with workchices and deserve to be punished harshly for such a mistake.

I remember high interest rates too, and like Jenny, would prefer to return to those tough times.

Since we are talking history, why don't we refer to the shame of stolen children? I reckon the snivelling little dipstick is not far away from presuming to start "thinking" for our indigenous communities now. (This is only one of his many faults)

Pitiful to hear that he has now made it a crime for anybody to possess more than 5 pornographic magazines in aboriginal communities. He actually thinks that will put a stop to the shockingly high rate of child abuse.

John Bon Howard is "Living on a Prayer"

oh margy margy margy ....
come on now ... John's time to go is now ..

i remember HIGH interest rates .. and call me insane but if i had to choose between high interest rates and a biggoted little throw back to the white-australian policey well I'd choose the high interest rates ..

I would prefer high interests rates to a xenophobic leader.
To one who's head is so far up the bum of GWB that he has to shove his toothbrush down GWB's throat to brush his own teeth...

He's a throw-back to the Bare-foot, pregnant and chained to the kitchen sink days of the 1950's

I think John Howard has done a very good job for Australia. You are probably too young to remember the "good old days" of high inflation and high interest rates. Please don't write the man off yet as he is not stupid, he is a very intelligent man...probably more intelligent than you.
