I've never named a fish... Dunno... Call it "Alpha" and you can confuse people by saying "This is Alpha, my Beta".

Similar to Asylum, I've used the names of Greek gods. Also, philosophers, war heroes, and other such figures.

Achilles was my awesome red warrior fish who survived moves and ich.
Robespierre was my evil blue/black that sulked and constantly attacked his ninja toys.
Plato slept on his side (seriously)
Socrates was born white with little bits of gold, but turned golden and later red, with mix of colors all of his life. We later started calling him Boy George or Karma (as in Karma Chameleon) because of it.

It's really up to you. A friend of mine named his Jackie Chan, so...yeah.

I have had many of these and my favorite thus far, "Poseidon"- the god of the sea in Greek mythology. Bettas just have that way they carry themselves when they are healthy- proud and beautiful. Much how I imagine a God would hold themselves.
