For a purely anthropological answer men prefer younger women because that was a way of insuring that the race would continue. A younger woman was more likely to be fertile and strong enough not to die in child birth therefor insuring that his children would have someone to raise them and to have more children with.
Women in modern times get upset for a couple of reasons. 1 it is no longer necessary to have a younger wife to ensure that you have children and society today looks down on a man who takes advantage of a younger naive young woman.
Women are no longer raised with the sole meaning of their lives to get married and to have children. Think would you really want your teen age daughter to have a boyfriend who was in his late 20's or early 30's? Most teenage girls who get pregnant do so with older men men over the age of 20 while the average girl to get pregnant as a teen is 17. And where is the man when she has the baby? Lost in the sauce some where pretending that they have no responsibility.

Why do men like young girls? Because social conventions have moved past simple visual cues, but the biology of attraction hasn't.
Why does this make women angry? Because nobody likes to be treated like their shelf-life has expired. See how you like it when your grooming and expensive clothes are no longer sufficient distraction from your bald spot and wrinkles.
