All the food shoppes were closed, and I was starving. They actually threw me out of the store just for making a sandwich. I was going to pay for it when I was going to check-out.

Is that legal?

I don't see why not. Money is just another way of bartering, so trading acorns for a grilled cheese sandwich might work.

Only if you had stuffed that sandwich: well-- eaten it!
I would make sure to eat the whole thing before they could pitch me out of the store!

NO! People open bags of chips and eat in the store all of the time. As long as you were going to pay for it, they had not reason to be upset. If you walked out, then they could have arrested you, but not throw you out.

Yes...you cant open packages without paying first. Until you've checked them out they belong to the store.

Did they throw you out on your head or your heels? that
is so funny. Yes, it is illegal. I'm surprised you are asking
from behind bars. I'll bring a diamond thread and saw
the bars so you can get out. I won't abandon you.

yes, they are within their rights to do that. lucky you didn't get charged with theft, terroristic tampering, etc. you could be facing a long jail term right now.
