Before you get another fish make sure you have enough room for it. Oscars alone require at least 50-75 gallons per for 1 or 2 fish. Oscars are very territorial! Finding good tank mates can be a challenge, but Jack Dempseys, Severums, Firemouths and Convicts have been successes that I know of. They usually get along with other cichlids that get to around the same size (around 6-12 inches)
note: plecostomus will quickly outgrow any tank... but are almost essential since most other algae cleaning fish are smaller... and more edible. Sometimes the pet store will take back an overgrown pleco.

the answer is another oscar of the aproximate same size, oscar are very agressive fish i`ve even seen them kill a larger jack dempsey, and their pretty mean themselves the only fish i did see survive a couple oscars was a plecostomus. of the same size as the oscars

There are several if your tank is larger enough. Plecostomuses (plecostimi?) are good, and some species don't grow huge. Jack Dempseys, some large catfish (not redtail cats); African cichlids are too mean!

CONSIDER A BIGGER TANK WITH LOTS OF SWIMMING AND HIDING PLACES WHEN YOU INTRODUCE FISH WITH AN OSCAR.

Not many, they'll even eat each other if there is a large size difference. You need other very agressive fish
