i am going back to my home country next month and now i am flatting with my flatmate. and i guess he will be partying and allowing his frens to stay overnight in my room when i am not around since he has my room key as in case because he is the 'manager' of the flat. i think he wont agree to hand in the key to me. so how do i prevent from him to let his frens overnight in my room when i am not there? i really dislike ppl to touch my things.

You cannot. The best that you can do is to ask me nicely to stay out of your room. However, based on the information you have given, he will not comply. Your flatmate should understand your concerns, but obviously does not. If the situation were reversed, he would not like people being in his room while he was gone. Your flatmate is a jerk, but that is not going to change. My answer is not what you wanted to read, but it is an honest one.

Lock away all your valuables. Take the sheets off of your bed and if possible stand your mattress up against the wall. Ask this guy if he needs anything from you and just before you leave change the lock on the door. His only way in will be by breaking in. Let him explain his way out of that one.
Also Put your foot down and let him know stay OUT of your room!
Good luck

There are so many options available as mentioned by so many who have answered your question. If these do not work , and you cannot change the lock or afraid to tell the flat ''manager'', just make your room as untidy as possible. This may put people off from ''using'' your room or its possible if they use your room, they will probably need to clean it up.

Get your key back or change the lock. Also, talk to your friend before doing it. Who pays the rent for your room while you will be gone? Your friend might think it's okay if you don't pay while you're gone. You also may want to move and find a thoughtful roommate.

Tell him flatly that you do not under any circumstances want anyone in your room while you are away. Tell him that it is to stay locked when he has his friends over. He should respect your privacy. Just in case, however, I would not leave anything valuable in there.

Tell him flat out NO ONE IN MY ROOM!!!!
Then change the lock.
He wont know unless he tries to open the door, for which there is no reason to do.

Change the lock on the door and don't give him the key.

Just tell him of your dislike, or tell him that sometimes, one of your friends might drop by to check on the room or to stay over night etc... or mention that you might come back much sooner!
