like the question says, how would you describe his attitude towards the people? and what how does that play into the materialist point of view...any answers will be helpful..thanx in advance

i would say he felt people should stay tuned into the basics, that when you lose the fundementals of life, you replace them with unecessary things and many tend to do this, lose focus
you can have things, but dont think of them as possesions or place to much importance on them, they do not enrich your spirit, and can lead to the negatives like envy, jealousy, crime
people make things more difficult for theirselves by their attitudes and actions
one idea i really liked from it was
"Know when it's time to stop. If you don't know then stop when you are done"
reminds me of Forest Gump-which to me, if i think about it, he was more in touch with what really is important then many are
