trying to form a wiccan group?

Question

Not really a question i know, and i am sure i'll get flack about it but putting this up on answers was worth a shot.

Looking to form a group in the Dayton, Ohio area of college age and 20 something wiccans. if you want to know more, just respond or even send me an e-mail. Or if by chance there is already a group out there and i have overlooked it. I do have a group on Witchvox and Yahoo groups.

I understand what you are saying Tirant. And yes i believe you to be correct. However I dont believe in calling something a coven until it is a coven. right now it is a forming group.

Starting out can be tough, because you have to find people. I take it that was part of the reason for posting. If you haven't already tried it, visit the Witches' Voice online and create a listing under groups, as Group Forming. The real key is to keep updating the listing. I've looked up a few groups and they really weren't active anymore.
It will also help to plan a few small events, get togethers, potlucks, or small rituals, and list those as well. Something current will get more attention than an ad that sits there.

Call me old fashioned but I always thought it should be coven not group...Has coven gone out of fashion with modern Wiccans? Most High Magick groups still meet in "lodges" right or is that old fashioned also?
Anyway good luck forming your new group (or whatever you call it!)

ps. Fair enough! call it a study group until it is running well... then I guess it becomes a coven organically.
