Husband and me were both born and raised in the city. When the time finally came, we left and never looked back.

We now live in the North Woods. Peace, quiet, birds, deer, bear, eagles and many other creatures people have never seen before. You never know what's going to pass through next.

Cities have there good points for those who like that kind of life style and then there are those who don't have a choice.

We consider ourselves lucky to be where we are and don't plan to change that. Some one would have to drag us out of the North Woods with a heavy chain.

I hope you have enough land on your farm. Keep it, don't sell it. Next thing you'll see out your back window are condominiums or new subdivisions. Those "city" people are starting to move to the country, which means more Wal-Marts

Be happy and keep on keeping roaming free. Only way to go.

To answer your second question first, NO.

Meerkats, Prarie Dogs and several other types of mammal for communal habitation.

So you roam free huh? Like a buffalo or something? Apparently you've never roamed far enough to find a colony of prairie dogs. Also it's not really free if you're trespassing on other farms. Perhaps you need to clarify this whole raoming concept better.

For those of us who prefer things other than roaming there's cities. Beauty, power, opportunity, history, education, commerce, culture, vice, action, it's all in your grasp. You can also roam through industrial, residential, commercial, recreation and ruin areas. Lower class, middle class and upper class neighborhoods, there's Asian, Latino, European and who knows what other sort of little sections in certain cities.

Unlike the confining social hierarchy of a small town where everyone knows everyone (and their business) you can always find privacy one neighborhood over. Tired of the crowd at your local bar? There's 20 more a bus ride away, each with a new crowd. Can't do that in a small town. You're stuck with the local social circles, like a cell mate.

Also, insects are animals. Egg-cell based reproduction, specified organs, multicellular, no cell walls (only membranes), aerobic respiration. All life is either a bacteria, protist, archea, fungus, plant or animal. Insect taxonomy is kingdom ANIMALIA, phylum ARTHROPODIA, class INSECTA.

Some people are afraid of being alone and enjoy the fact that there is always someone nearby them. I am liek you and prefer my space. There are somenice things baout the city life though- theatre, arts, museums, great shopping and food. Some people want to be near the best health care available- usually in a big city. I think it all depends on how and where you were raised.

Looks like you answered your own question. Living out in the country myself, I'm finding more & more that many city folk would much rather trade places with us. That's why they're destroying generations-old farms to buy that little bit of peace and calm that you enjoy. But driving several miles to just get bread can be annoying and expensive!

I like to communicate and meet new people. Plus all the money to be made is in the city. I believe it is more of a place for excitement and commerce.

some people, myself included, dread those big old open spaces, Cities offer a lot more diversity and opportunities for those seeking them. You can still be free in the city.

I love the country also. I had to move into town because my home burnt 3 years ago. I just moved back onto my property and I am so glad to be back.

I like the diversity of restaurants, art galleries, shops, theatres, etc. And not having to own a car.

Most urban dwellers are there for economic reasons. I would live in Alaska, if I could.
