what kind of medical lawsuits do you find interesting?

i have to do a paper on a medical case of some kind, but i dont really know where to start! because i find law boring, i want to work on a case thats interesting!

are there any cases you know of or topics you could suggest that you are interested in? it could be malpractice cases, personal lawsuites against health care industries, ect.

for example i have a classmate that is doing her paper on a case about the misdiagnosis of ADHD in children.

thanks for any suggestions!

medical treatment of prisoners would be really interesting, especially pregnant females. I know there was a case involving a female shackled during labor that resulted in some sort of injury.

Nursing Home abuse, Pediatric Ward Neglect, Mental Hospital Care, etc...
If you want a really different paper try this perspective:
Late shifts for Nurses can cause accidents to happen- try doing it from the Nurse's perspective. Analyze why the majority of personal injuries take place at nighttime hours. Is it because the hospitals are under-staffed, is it because no one takes into account if a person is tired on the job, determine if it is the supervisor at fault or who? Figure out who would be responsible and be sued. Have fun!

"Nurses that Kill" - nurses who intentionally kill their patients (most suffer from Munchausen's By Proxy and use it as a way to bring glory and sympathy to themselves) and the coverup by hospitals they have worked for.

"Mothers who suffer post-partum depression that kill their children and the failure of medical professionals to diagnose the problem" (most recent and publicized case is Andrea Yates Case).
