Go outside, get your hose, and water all along the edge of your house in the bushes and grass. Water a lot. Now turn off the water and wait. You will see snails crawling up the sides of your house within a couple of hours. If not, water again and check in the morning.

Depends on what type of snails and what the purpose you want them for. In Malaysia, you can easily find snails in the Paddy field (rice farm).

In my back yard. ;D We have lots! No but seriously, snails usually live by lakes and swamps. But if you live in an urban area, just check some bushes or underbrush right after it rains; that's when they usually come out.
