Disability
Question Details: I am 80% compensated from the VA and i still work for the fed govt now, however i am going out on medical disability retirement. The question i have is this; on the OPM forms for disability they ask about if i am receiving any type of compensation from the VA. I am to assume that they mean as a retiree from the military for which i am NOT, so will my receiving money from VA affect my case for disability from civil service. I am under FERS...THANKS...Tony

yes. You must declare all income every month as the next month check will be garished the approx amount of the income for the month before.

Call SS office near you to be sure. That's how it is in my state.

Good luck

I would really look at the phone number provided on the OPM (office of personnel management) forms and contact them for clarification.

I think it will, and please declare all your income, if it doesnt apply they will tell you. You dont want to be in the position of being caught "lying", fined, forced to pay back a lot of money and refused all disability assistance.

I declared my WCB pittance and was told it wouldnt be considered or deducted.
