find a costume that is either the opposite of your day to day self (IE: if you normally are the "good one" go as a devil) or one that represents a part of you that you don't usually let out (IE: if you are normally conservative in your dress, find one that lets you be flamboyant) another idea is to go as something/someone who scares you. That way, it will reduce the power of that person/thing the next time you feel scared by them.
