For me, it started with Final Fantasy and The Magic of Scheherazade for the NES, then Phantasy Star IV (probably my favorite game of all time) and Sword of Vermilion for Sega. After that, it was FF VII, VIII, Suikoden and Lunar 1 and 2 for the PS1. Dragon Quest VIII, FF X, and many others for the PS2. I never owned a SNES, so I know I missed a lot of good RPGs. I can't wait to get a 360 for Oblivion (I liked Morrowind quite a bit, and Oblivion is supposedly much better).

My first great RPG experience was Final Fantasy 6 (released in US as FF3) on the SNES. Wow! I was hooked on RPGs for good. My other favorite RPGs are Final Fantasy 10, Dragon Quest 8, Final Fantasy 12, and Dark Cloud 2.

I know its not an RPG itself, but the ORIGINAL Legend of Zelda on the NES got me into the sword/shield/potion genre. If it wasn't for it I might have never played the Final Fantasy series. If you're wanting an ACTUAL RPG It'd have to be FF VII. My favorite is always the one I'm playing at the moment though (Dungeon Siege 2 currently)

Final Fantasy VII started my RPG obsession and I still play it to this day. As well as the FF series I also love Shin Megami Tensei games.

Although I had played RPG's before, Wizardry for the NES is what made me a true fan. I'm not much of a fan anymore, having moved to FPS's; too old now to concentrate on an RPG, I guess.

i've been a fan of rpg since i played Golden Sun and Golden Sun-The Lost Age.................that's the best rpg game i can find in Gba........the storyline is great.............the final fantasy series ar good too...........can't wait for the final fantasy for my ps3...............
